I has a new pet? .^^;
So I found this "little" guy hanging out in the kitchen when I got home from work. .... I think I'll keep him. ;P

He's weird... I've never seen and insect like him before. He's got four wings like a dragonfly, but fuzzy antennae like a moth, and is a whopping 2 inches in length. =3 So after much searching around the internets, I discovered he's a Summer Fishfly. The adults live about 7 days, and don't eat. .^^ So while I'll probably end up letting him go tomorrow, if I did actually keep him, I wouldn't have to worry about feeding him. .^^;
I've named him Jorge. ;P

(... ::goes to dictionary:: Proliferate... that's the word.. .^^;; )
I did end up letting him go. .^^ Down by the lake, as I'm guessing that's where he came from. Though webs sites seem to say they're not good at flying, so I don't know how he hobbled all the way to my house. .^^ But he's one lucky bug! If my Grandma had been the one to find him, she'd have squashed him. .^^
And they said it's the males that have the moth-like antennae. =3 I'd have checked for peen to make sure it's male, but I'm not sure what bug-peen looks like..... ;P

It's a good thing he met up with you. One day, after his death, I'm sure he'll reincarnate into a human to repay your kindness. Or be eaten by a bird. Who knows?
Yay for sexual dimorphism. Otherwise you'd have to check for a peen. Although, if they're related to dragonflies, they might have shovel shaped penis, to scoop out rival male sperm. However, considering their size, you might need a microscope (or dissection scope) to find it.

Maybe. .^^ Maybe he'll reincarnate into the person who cures cancer. Or maybe he and his reincarnated boyfriend will be the first former-fishfly couple to be married on Mars. X3
Shovel peen!? D= That's craziness! Insects have strange mating habits. .o_o
