What's going on here?
Jun. 3rd, 2010 08:36 pmWell, this has been an unusual day.
For starters, I had one class at the junior high, but some of the students have field trips this week or next, so the schedule's been changed around a bit. Problem is... nobody bothered telling me or the teacher I was working with. So we walk in and the homeroom teacher is like "Why are you here?" and we're like "... to teach?" So after some phone calls it was determined that the school was doing Tuesday's schedule instead of Thursday's, since nobody was around Tuesday.
Gee, thanks for telling us.
So I went to my first Tuesday class, where that teacher was surprised I didn't know about the change. .-_- Though class went fine, I guess, despite me walking in late like some asshole.
Then I spent the rest of the morning with all the English teachers confirming the Tuesday schedule with me. "You're with me later, right?" Well... no. You may be on Tuesday, but for me it's still Thursday, the day I spend the afternoon at the elementary school.
But my time at the elementary school wasn't any more normal... considering that of the two classes I had, both of the teachers forgot about me. .>_> See, usually at the elementary school the teacher for each class will send a pair of students to come fetch me from the teacher's room. It's fun, and cute. But minutes pass by, each class period I was supposed to be teaching, and nobody came. And both times, I eventually just walked to the classroom myself, to find the teacher, both times(!), had forgotten about me. So both of those classes ended up being about 15-minutes long.
But I know tomorrow will be better. All day with my 5th- and 6th-graders, and they're fun to teach. Especially since the teacher I work with with them is a great teacher, and understands most of my English (or at least does a very good job of faking it). We work well together, and that makes it better for the kids.
And after that it'll be Saturday~! Which I'm officially calling 'Hetalia Movie Day'! And will be awesome. .... Hopefully.
