Free! gets a season twooooooooooooooo!

Of course, I was there in the audience when they announced it at the seiyuu talk event, and being the big, blubbering idiot that I am, I had tears streaming down my face. .^^;;; I couldn't help it! And I probably wasn't the only one.

Anyway, I have something of a review of the event up on Tumblr, and it's totally recommended reading. ;P

sailorstarsun: (love is in the air - Thief/Thief)
Wow wow wow!

I am actually blown away at how perfect their voices sound together!! =D =D

I'm also torn, because I decided I wouldn't buy any of the duet CDs until they were all out, so I could buy them all together and get the free box and bromide. And I told myself I couldn't download the songs as they were released, because if I did I just know I'd lose all incentive to buy CDs. I can listen online, but no downloading! Which means I won't be able to put them on my iPod until they're all out. But... but they won't all be released until March 2014. .;__;

Must be strong!

Oh, also, they're totally wearing couples' rings. X3

..... Damn. I may as well make a Free! tag on here.

sailorstarsun: (love is in the air - Thief/Thief)
I enjoy that there is official art of Nagisa sitting on Rei's lap.

That is all.

sailorstarsun: (noooo! - Ryoma)
So.

Just watched the last episode of Free!.

And I am literally feeling so many conflicting emotions, all at the same time.

cut just in case of spoilers )

And that's without seeing it subtitled yet.
Now I'll go to bed and fume/weep/wibble into my pillow, and wake up to subs tomorrow.

This series will be the death of me.

....... Ai. X3

sailorstarsun: (D= - Ankh)
Wow... Just, fucking... WOW.

Episode 11 was intense.

Nerd rage~!

Next week is the last episode. I'll probably curl up into a ball and die from heartbreak.

sailorstarsun: (smile - Arisada)
Taken from Tumblr.

Choose 5 anime shows you like before reading the questions.

1. Free!
2. Prince of Tennis
3. Giant Killing
4. K
5. Kuroko no Basket

And the questions... )

It was around question #14 that I realized four of the five series I chose were sports series. .^^;;

sailorstarsun: (yeah.. - Zephel)
Not that it takes much to be a better sports series than PoT, but Free! did it in seven episodes, simply because

Hint hint, Konami.

If you're not watching 'Free!', then you really need to be.

Why?

Obviously, for the great...

plot.

And also for Rin's adorable shark teeth.

But mostly, more than anything, you should watch it for this guy.

Doesn't he just look so cool? =3 So studious and serious.

Well, he's not.

Rei is a special butterfly who needs to learn how to spread his wings and FLY~!
He's also the outcast in a series about a group of childhood friends, and sometimes just seems so scared of being left behind. I wanna hug him. .;_;

Watch it. Squee with me.

Also, best ED I've seen in a long time.
(Wait, did I say "best?" I meant "gayest.")

First of all, in Kyoto I found an Animate store, and as I picked up a few items, I saw they were doing Tenipuri anikuji. So on a whim I did two anikujis, and ended up winning CDs of Atobe and Kite. XD Of all the CDs they had, I got two of my, like, eight favorite characters. Whee~

And then I lamanted the fact that I wouldn't be anywhere near anything resembling a CD player for several days. Woe! But I've heard them now, and I must say Atobe's is pretty amazing. ;P

So I'm home from my trip, safe and sound and a little bit sick, but overall happy I went. And exhausted. I'll do a little report and post pictures later, but for now I'll just talk about today really quick.

Today I went to Comiket, like I do every winter.

I headed over there as soon as I stepped off the bus from Kyoto, after stopping by a locker to stash my luggage in. It was pouring fucking rain all day, and when I got to Tokyo Big Sight and followed the crowed to the GIGANTIC line for the East Hall, I was miserable and paranoid about my bag getting wet and my iPad getting destroyed. The rain run-off from everyone's umbrellas kept shooting out at tiny me, and the whole time I wasn't even sure I was in the right line. So after an hour of standing there and seeing other people getting in but the line I was in not moving, I went over to a staff person and asked where the line for the East Hall was. Turns out I was in the right line, but since I'd gotten out of line to ask, I had to go to the end of the line, adding another hour at least on to my wait. In the the pouring fucking rain.

I actually wouldn't have been so irritable and pissy if it weren't raining. But after another 20 minutes of standing in the rain, I decided fuck it, I didn't need anything in there that bad. So I left the line again, and was going to just go the fuck home.

I was seriously like a fish swimming upstream, the lone me walking back towards the station against yet more hordes of people heading towards the East Hall line. But then when I got to where the West Hall was, I saw there wasn't really any line at all. I knew the West and East halls were connected inside the building, so I had to wonder if they weren't blocked off or something. Why else would everyone wait outside to get in the East Hall, when they could just go in the West Hall and walk to the East without waiting? It couldn't be that easy... could it?

Well, since I was there I gave it a whirl, and it worked out just fine. I went in the West Hall, with no line and no waiting, and walked on the inside, out of the rain, to the East Hall. It really was that easy, and I can't figure out why the thousands of people waiting outside the East Hall didn't do that (not that I'm complaining).

Then I did my annual bee-line to D-1's booth and bought all the books I didn't have. And since they are very productive, it was quite a few. =O The hot Tezuka cosplayer was there again, and this time they also had a cute Atobe cosplayer, and they were dressed as waiters. X3
But other than them, there weren't many other TAT booths. I only saw one other circle's booth; it was a little sad.

I wandered around the rest of the Tenipuri booths, and found these ridiculous things. I looked for Kamen Rider stuff, but there wasn't anything (must have been there on a different day). I got a Sakaki x Atobe doujishi (what? don't look at me like that), and with it they gave me a little fake rose (because they're classy as fuck). I bought a Tyki x Lavi doujinshi that is so porny I had to show my I.D. for them to sell it to me. XD And... I think that's all.

I didn't really stay long, though, and in the end, I don't know how much longer I can continue going. Maybe it was just the rain making it miserable, but it's so troublesome and there are SO many people that I always end up pissed off. We'll see.

As for now, I have many new doujinshi to read. =3

anime rec

While looking for something to watch, lamenting the lack of a season two of Kuroko no Basuke, I may have stumbled across a gem.

K )

I am now off to Animate to see what goods I can buy. =3

sailorstarsun: (teamwork - Gakuto/Yuushi)
Just when I thought there was absolutely no good anime out this season, along came Kuroko no baske.
So far, it's totally fun.

sailorstarsun: (who could resist? - Atobe)
Every now and then I'll browse random BL CD dramas, just to hear so-and-so seiyuu. Right now, I'm deciding on how I feel about Takahiro Sakurai's voice. I think I like it. When he speaks normally, in a regular, everyday voice, he sounds rather young. But when he gets all brooding and thinking too much, he sounds much darker. That's the voice I like. I just wish he would sing.

But as for CD dramas, I'm frustrated with the lack of Kosugi x Morikawa. How the hell can two seiyuu be so prolific in the BL drama world, yet have never been paired? It would be sexy.
... Maybe that's why. Maybe it'd be too sexy, and fangirls would die.

Though I did manage to find Okiayu x Morikawa. .... And I laughed.

It would be Günter on Cillian. =D

Antonio would find it the sexiest thing ever. B... probably not so much.

And speaking of Günter and Brishen, there's this.

sailorstarsun: (=3 - Alphonse)
If you're not watching No. 6, you really need to be, stat. Episode five is so sweet! =3

Also, I will do a small review of HyouteiMyu, but I want to scan some stuff first. But soon, I promise!

sailorstarsun: (yuuta approved - Yuuta)
Dear Bleach,

Thank you for that. I take back every bad thing I ever said about you.

Love,

Me

sailorstarsun: (go on. - Ukitake)
Holy shit, that was awesome.

cut for spoilers and raving )

Anyway. I just saw it, and already I can't wait for a subtitled version, so I can know the things I don't understand.

And I totally want to see it again. But damn, 1,800 yen for a movie ticket? I'm so going to smack the next whiny American who cries about paying $8.00 to see a movie.

sailorstarsun: (noooo! - Ryoma)

Why bring him back just to make me watch him die again!?! That was cruel, you sons of bitches!!

.;__________;

No love,

Me

Also, the wind is blowing hard enough to shake my entire apartment building. .>_>

chit-chat

Hee~ Yesterday I had a conversation with a couple elementary school 5th grade girls about Bleach. .^_^ A small conversation, of course, but I enjoyed it.

Several months ago, during class, I saw one of the girls had a keychain of Byakuya attached to her pencil case, so I was like "Ooh, Byakuya!" And she was like "You know Byakuya!?" And I was "Yes, I love Byakuya!" =D (All in Japanese, of course.) Then later, maybe a few weeks ago, I saw she'd put pictures of Hitsugaya all over her folder. She looooooves Hitsugaya. And in one of the pictures he was wearing a Santa outfit, so I pointed at it and was saying "Cute!" And she says "It's Santa Hitsu!" .^,^

So yesterday I was eating lunch in their class, and sat next to her, and her and a friend asked if I knew... some anime I'd never heard of, so I said no. And she said that I did know Bleach, and asked if Bleach was popular in America. Of course I said yes. She asked if Gintama was popular in America, but I don't actually know if it is or not, so I said "So-so." Gintama is super popular here, so I assume it's made its way to the U.S., but I hadn't actually heard of it when I was there, so if it is popular, either it's been really recently, or I was living under a rock while there.

Anyway. I was then asked who my favorite Bleach character was, so of course I said Ukitake. .^_^ And the two girls were like "Ooh! The one with long, white hair!" And I said "Yes!" "Squad 13's captain!" "Yes!" And then the girl points to her friend and said "She likes Zaraki! Isn't that weird!?" XD And I said "No~ Zaraki's cool!" It was fun. ;P

I've tried to downplay that I like anime since I've come here, since I don't want people to get the impression that that's why I came, but as others have said, it's actually good that I know some anime, because it gives me something I can connect to the students with. Even if our talks are simple, between their English and my Japanese, it's something. I feel closer to them because we have a common interest.

My other fun work story is, at the junior high school the 8th graders were learning "if," and so had a worksheet where they had to write a statement using "If I had much money..." (note: I didn't make the worksheet, and I question using "much money." I think it's technically correct, but feels awkward for some reason....) I was correcting the papers, and while most of them wrote "If I had much money, I would buy clothes" or "I would buy CDs" or "I would buy a house," someone had written "If I had much money, I would buy a bear."

I laughed.

sailorstarsun: (love is in the air - Thief/Thief)
So, about the Shizuo/Izaya pairing. I have thoughts.

cut for rambly shipping talk )

sailorstarsun: (hand holding - Atobe/Tezuka)
Well, I guess you could say it seems like nobody is mad at me about calling in sick. If they are, they've not said anything, but a couple of the teachers were actually pretty worried about me. (I think one was convinced it was heat stroke.) But I'm back on my feet and all is well. And I've been volunteered to participate in the tug-of-war on Sports Day, this Saturday (which is why I have to randomly work on a Saturday).

And in totally other news~

Not spoiler cut, since nobody else is watching this series... .^^;;

Last week's episode of Giant Killing was exciting! Gino got pissed. ... It was kinda hot. >3 I mean... this was the first time he's ever been not smiling. And not only was he not smiling, he was pissed.
This whole match he's been having problems with his foot, so his passes weren't going through, but I'd been convinced he was just sandbagging it - pretending there was a real problem when there wasn't, just to throw their opponents off. But when he finally gets a pass through to Natsuki, and Natsuki blows it... Well, that look Gino gave made me change my mind. I think maybe he really is having problems, so that waste of a good pass is more meaningful than if he were at his usual pace.

Oh, Gino. You're so much love. I'ma name a doll after you.

Sort of related; if you can view stuff on Pixiv, look here. Is cute. .^_^

Also, I don't know when or why people started pairing Dori and Sera... but I'm not against it. XD

Anyway, I'm downloading this week's episode right now. Fun times~!

And finally~

It's been a while since I've made icons, but lately I've been inspired to make some. Not many (really...), but these are my new ones:

I've almost got one for each of my dolls. .^^

Oh! And finally finally,

I realized that last week (on the 1st) was Quincy's 2nd birthday. So~ Happy Birthday Quincy~!!
Even if we couldn't be together for it. .;_;

sailorstarsun: (demons - Claude/Sebastian)
Through episode 9.
