So yesterday I went back to the dentist. Mostly as a follow up to my prior appointment. The sensitivity has mostly gone away, and all is well. No cavities or decay or anything, which is what I was really worried about, so I'm glad.

Back in 'Merica, my dentist said many times that there are signs of wear on my back teeth. Because I have an open bite, any and all force on my teeth is on the back teeth alone; they're doing all the work. This is made worse by the fact that I apparently grind my teeth in my sleep. So my former dentist always pushed me getting a night guard to wear when I sleep, to ease the wear from grinding. Problem is, in the U.S. this night guard cost $600, and was not covered by my shitty Target insurance.

Now here, in Nihon, my new dentist says the same thing - all the force is on my back teeth, and they need protecting. She also recommended the night guard. But here, they're significantly cheaper, and they are covered by Japan's National Health Care. So I'm going ahead and getting the guard. It will be about $60.

The point is, I don't get why stupid Americunts are so against national health care. Do they like paying ten times what everyone else is paying?
