to Sano!

Wow. So I sent my stuff (to myself) yesterday, made the move to Sano today, and a few hours after arriving, my stuff showed up. .^^ That was quick.

My new apartment is TINY. It is, literally, half the size of my other apartment. And there is not a shelf to speak of.

I think I've been spoiled this past year. Now things get tough.

I don't know where I'm going to put anything. There are no shelves! No little storage cubbies, no large storage space under the bed. It has a loft, which I plan on sleeping in, because I LOVE the idea of nesting up high, but there was also a bed frame on the main floor, that I don't know what I'll do with if I'm not using it for a bed. I think I'll get a bunch of pillows and make a couch out of it. However, even as a couch, it's no good for what I do most - spending hours on the computer. The only table is a short thing, no higher than the bed/couch, so if I sat on the bed/couch and computed on the table, leaning over, my back would kill like woah. To sit on the floor with my back to the bed/couch would be difficult, because the internet cable and the power cable, which are on opposite sides of the computer, are coming from opposite directions from where they plug in. So currently, I'm sitting on the floor, but my back is against the ladder to the loft, which... hurts like woah.

I'm going to have to figure something out.

I have no idea where I'm going to put the dolls, my books, my little figurines and plushies, my food, my toiletries, anything. There's nowhere to put anything. .;__;

I may have to get some bookshelves... which will be tons of fun on a bike. .-_-

Ah! But the bike my company gave me is awesome! It's red. >3 It needs to be named Arai-kun, now that I've left Nakamoto behind. .^^

The new apartment kind of smells, and is dirty. I found a bunch of old papers stashed in a forgotten corner of the kitchen, along with some guy's credit cards and hanko. .>_> The shower is going to force me to shower in the bathtub, American style, which is so much less fun than having the whole shower room. The heater isn't very heated. The futon they gave me is old, stained, the pillow was damp, and there's no sheets.

And no balcony, of course.

I'm still happy, though. Don't get me wrong. I'm complaining now because it's so much less than what I've had, but I'll get used to it. I'm very happy to have a loft; that's what I wanted before.

And Luke loves the color scheme. .^^ (shades of gray, with purple curtains)

We drove by the school I'll be working at, and it's HUGE. I'm going to get so lost. .@_@
Tomorrow we'll drive around and find the 100-yen store, and maybe a grocery store. ... Not that I'll be able to get too much food, what with no place to put it. Even the fridge is half the size of my old one. .>_>

I wonder if IKEA ships to Japan...
