undertaking
Feb. 17th, 2012 10:55 pmI'm doing something crazy.
I'm revamping Back of the Sun.
I just got the whim to do it tonight. I decided to update the site with all the stories that haven't been added yet, but because the shitty-ass program I have to use now is shitty and ass-tastic, nothing was coming out right. Expression Web is clearly a program for people who don't actually need web programs to build and update pages (all the tutorials out there are like "Change the CSS style!" and I'm like "I DON'T KNOW WHAT THE FUCK THAT IS."), and I am not that person. The fonts don't work, the tables don't work, the colors don't work. Nothing works.
So I decided the best way to deal with it would be to just re-make the whole site, and avoid using the things that are giving me trouble (namely, tables).
It's coming out ok, so far. But since I have some 200 stories I'll have to accommodate and re-arrange, it may take a while before the new site is online.
Why do I do this to myself?
Edit:
It's about time, anyway, when you think about it. The site hasn't had a freshening-up in almost six years. Change is good.
