Making the grade...?
Jul. 30th, 2006 09:34 pmFor once, I'm actually concerned about my school grades.
I'm the kind of intelligent where I just naturally do well in school. If I were to actually study and apply myself, I bet I'd get really good grades - like on an honor roll level. But I'm lazy, and I procrastinate. When I try to study I get distracted by just thinking of the hundreds of things I'd rather be doing with my time. So a lot of assignments get missed, and a lot of pages go unread. And yet, because I easily absorb whatever my instructor says during lectures, I pass tests with little problem.
But in this class, I can't do that. There are no tests, just essays. Lots...of essays.
I've always hated this style of teaching.
I understand the concepts; I know what's going on. Give me a test and I'll prove it. But shit, I can't put it into words. I can't organize my thoughts well enough to write it out. I've heard the ideas, I just can't recite them.
But I've only got two days to figure out what to do about it, because PROCRASTINATION. .~_~
