So the Mito Line, which is the only train line out of Chikusei, has been closed for a week. Today I called the JR East (the company that owns the train lines) English help line, and they said they had no idea when it'll be running again. Which means, unless I feel like shelling out a shitload of money for a taxi, there's no way out of here.

The Very Big Problem with this is, if they're not running in another week, how the fuck am I supposed to move? There are no buses, and it'd cost several hundred dollars each way to take a taxi. I was planning on making several trips back and forth to take all my stuff, but if the trains aren't fixed, how am I supposed to do that?

Damn it.

Are moving companies a viable solution? Could you pay once to get your stuff hauled to the new place? What about shipping the large things first?

Regardless, I hope you figure out some way around it.

I have found a few moving companies, so may use that if nothing better (read: cheaper) comes up. Mostly, I'm just frustrated that I spent so much time getting the move all figured out, and now it's all ruined, and I have to start from square one again.

But I might be able to get a friend with a large vehicle to help out...

Yeah, that sucks. Best of luck on overcoming yet another obstacle. T_T
